Large tree removal across East Texas

Big trees come down safely, get hauled off whole where the machines allow it, and the yard gets left clean.

The trees people can't deal with themselves

Most people call when a tree is too big for a ladder and a rented saw: a tall pine behind the house, an oak leaning toward the roof, a trunk that's gone hollow or dead. Lester's Tree Service specializes in removing large trees across East Texas, and no two get the same plan.

Taking down a tree near a house, a fence or a drive is a question of what can go wrong on the way down. The crew answers that before the first cut, by looking at how tall the tree is, what shape it's in and what's standing under it.

Lifted out whole, not chopped to firewood

Plenty of crews cut a tree into small pieces and carry them out by hand. Lester's crews run grapple trucks, a knuckle-boom log loader, track loaders with grapples and a tracked spider lift, so they can lift much bigger sections. Where a tree is leaning over a house, a crane takes it off.

Bigger picks mean less time on the ground and fewer trips through your yard. One customer had a 65 ft pine taken down. In their words, "They showed at 8 am and was gone by 10 am." That covered unloading the equipment, cutting the tree, hauling it off and cleaning up.

Every crew member is insured, and the crew trains to National Arborist Association safety standards. The crews clean up after themselves and leave the yard looking like the work never happened.

Sometimes the answer is a trim

If a tree doesn't need to come down, we'll tell you. A good trim can keep a healthy tree and save you the cost of removal, and we'd rather recommend that than sell a job you don't need.

If you've got a half-dead tree and you're not sure whether to save it, the estimate is the time to ask. Our consultations cover that question for free. For a tree that's already down, the storm page has how we handle emergencies, and the stump is its own job, covered on the stump page.

What the quote weighs

Five tags hang on every removal quote.

Every job gets its own free quote, because these five things change from tree to tree.

  • Tree height

A taller tree means a longer drop zone, longer picks and more weight overhead. It sets which machine can reach it.

  • Wood type

A green oak round is far heavier than the same size of pine. Weight decides what the grapple and the trailer can carry.

  • Condition

Sound wood cuts predictably. Dead, split or rotten wood doesn't, so the crew rigs it more carefully and works slower.

  • Equipment needs

A climber and a saw, a tracked spider lift, a loader with a grapple or a crane. Each one is a different line on the quote.

  • Location

Over a roof, beside a fence, behind a house, at the end of a soft yard. Where the tree stands is often the hardest part.

Read this one twice

Tree removal and stump removal are two separate jobs, quoted separately.

If you want the stump gone too, say so at the estimate and it goes on the quote as its own line. The stump removal and grinding page explains the difference. Seniors, military and first responders get 10% off.
